HISTORY
How PMSC started: The Project Management Software Centre was established in 1990 to provide software solutions, customisation, training and consultancy for project managers and planners using Microsoft Project.
The creation of Project Commander: It soon became apparent that Microsoft Project had some drawbacks which impacted unfavourably on our customers, so we designed and created our own planning software: Project Commander.
Project Commander was launched in 1995. Its flexibility, ease of use, graphical capabilities and overall functionality coupled with our very reasonable pricing policy (especially for multiple users) and the PMSC commitment to good service made it an instant success amongst the small to medium size companies who acquired it.
Project Commander's reputation has been built in the construction-related industry where it has proved a strong competitor to Microsoft Project.
Project Commander evolves: Since its inception Project Commander has been continually developed and extended to satisfy the ever-increasing needs of our customers. We normally issue two or three upgrades every year (free to customers on annual maintenance contracts).
The need for compatability with Microsoft Project: While Project Commander went from strength to strength we became aware of other companies struggling with Microsoft Project but tied to it by company policy. With Microsoft Project, for example, they just could not get the high quality graphical output that is such a feature of Project Commander.
PMSC came to their aid in 2006 by creating a feature to open MPP files from Microsoft Project. This gives its users far better graphical capabilities, as well as much easier ways to input data.
Training, customisation, and consultancy: Since the inauguration of PMSC we have been helping planners (managers taking on the planning role as well as full time planners) find the solutions they need to their planning problems.
Training throughout the UK has always been one of our core activities. Our training programs have developed in line with customer expectations, and our expert trainers are experienced in tailoring these to suit the customer.
